Connie Stevens Robeson grew up on a dairy farm in southern Virginia singing to the rhythm of the milking machine. She graduated magna cum laude from James Madison University with a B.M.E. and earned a M.M.E. from Shenandoah University. Ms. Robeson is retired from a public school teaching career that spanned over thirty-five years. She taught choral and general music at both Harpers Ferry and Shepherdstown Middle Schools in Jefferson County, WV, and at Clarke County High School and Johnson-Williams Intermediate School in Berryville, VA. Connie has sung continuously with Winchester Musica Viva chamber choir since 1985 and has served on its Board of Directors. For many years she performed with the a cappella women’s quartet Vocalpoint which was composed of fellow Viva sopranos. She has been both a singer and a ringer with 6th Dimension, a six-member handbell ensemble. This all-female group performed both locally and regionally and recorded several CDs. She has enjoyed serving as a choral adjudicator for local school systems. Connie and her husband Steve, a retired Winchester public school teacher, enjoy spending time at their home in Clarke County with their cats Bailey and Punkin.
