WMV seeks Artistic Director
Winchester Musica Viva, an independent chamber choir in its 41st season, seeks a new Artistic Director beginning this fall, September 2022. The choir enjoys a reputation for fine choral music, with three successful international tours and numerous performances by invitation. Venues include events sponsored by such organizations as the Contemporary American Theatre Festival, Contemporary Music Festival and the American Choral Directors Association.
The Artistic Director provides artistic leadership, directs rehearsals, establishes programming and conducts all performances. The AD supports fundraising efforts and community outreach to help fulfill the group mission: Ignite a Passion for Song! The choir seeks a conductor of outstanding musicianship committed to presenting challenging and diverse music including standard repertoire, contemporary literature, and popular arrangements.
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in music with an emphasis in choral conducting or equivalent conducting experience. DMA preferred.
Compensation:
This is a part-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience.
